World Cup Group A betting looks to be a pretty straight forward affair for group winner at least, as it looks as if it is going to be a one horse race. This is where the host nation, Brazil, are situated as the young and talented side look to shoot their way to glory once again. The Brazilians have a lot of expectation upon their shoulders, so it’s more of a question of mentality than it is talent if they are going to go all the way.

They are still trading as favourites in the outright winner market in World Cup betting at a price of 3/1 with online betting site Bet365. They are naturally also running as favourites in the 2014 World Cup Group A betting as they go up against Croatia, Mexico and Cameroon.

Brazil are just overwhelming favourites to finish top of the group here, too short to back at odds of 1/4 really with Bet365. So the way to look at them for value, being such favourites, is to go for a dual forecast bet where you can take a price of Evens on a Brazil/Mexico or a Brazil/Croatia wager.

You are going to really be looking for value too in the race for second spot in Group A. African representative Cameroon are running as 1/10 favourites Not To Qualify, so punters aren’t going to be looking at them to get in the mix.

So that is going to leave a dual between Croatia and Mexico.

What makes this exciting is that Croatia and Mexico will go up against each other on Monday, June 23rd in the final round of group matches. So that means it is likely to be a straightforward shoot out to follow Brazil through. It is going to be hard to split them really too, but the Europeans will probably edge things as favourites with punters.

Mexico barely scraped into the World Cup draw and don’t look a threatening side at all. Croatia are probably technically better, and they were running with Belgian well in their qualifying group until the final stretch. They then muscled their way past Iceland in the play off round to make it to the finals. Mexico have only met Croatia three times before and the Europeans lead the head to head 2-1.

Both Croatia and Mexico can be taken at a price of 5/4 with Bet365 in the To Qualify market for World Cup Group A betting. The Brazil v Croatia fixture kicks off the whole tournament on June 12, 2014 with Mexico taking on Cameroon the next day. If you fancy taking things a little further then a Brazil/Croatia straight forecast is up at odds of 9/5, matching the price of a Brazil/Mexico Forecast.
