It is incredible how so many smaller nations are involved in crucial last day games, and that again just comes down to the luck of the fixtures. The Ukraine will be laughing after their 1-0 home victory over England on Saturday. That win was their game in hand over Croatia, and by winning it have taken control of the runner’s-up spot in Group Six. With England already having won the group, the Ukraine shot down their hopes of a 100% qualification record, when England keeper Robert Green was sent off around the quarter hour mark.

That victory was just what the Ukraine needed, and now with lowly Andorra standing between them and securing second place, it should pretty much be a done deal. With just three goals to their name during qualification, there doesn’t appear to be anything that Andorra could pull out of their hat to stop the Ukraine from beating Croatia in the race for second.
