Extrabet – World Cup Odds

Name of Bookmaker: ExtraBet

Website Address: www.extrabet.com

Introductory Offers:
ExtraBet offer one of the more unique promotions to their new customers. When you open a new Spread Betting account with the online bookmaker during May and June 2010, they will offer you a 20% Cashback on all net spread betting losses which you incur, for a period of 30 days following the registration date. For those of you who prefer the more traditional fixed odds betting account, then you get a free matched first bet up to the value of £25 on a new account. This first bet needs only to be a £10 minimum in order to qualify, and ExtraBet will match it for you with a Free Bet of the same value. They’ll repeat the free bet on the occasion of your 5th and 15th bet.

Markets on offer:
Heading to the ExtraBet homepage, you will see their list of Sports Betting markets down the left hand side. Football largely dominates things, along with the horse racing. But if you are looking for the likes of Cricket, Rugby Union, Golf, Tennis and more, then the markets are there, along with Politics and specials. There are three visible football categories there, Football Fixtures, Football Long Term and Football World Cup. It is simple, clear and plenty on offer to get started with quickly.

Current World Cup Bets on Offer:
The 2010 FIFA World Cup betting section is clearly market in the menu, and there is a good promotional banner on the homepage anyway. Clicking to the section will bring up a list of bets, from the World Cup 2010 Winner, World Cup to Reach Final, World Cup Top Goalscorer (Wayne Rooney 10/1), as well as group betting ranging from Outright Group Winner (Spain at 4/1), To Quality and Group Forecast. There is a little bit more to ExtraBet than just the fixed odds options, as hinted at in the promotion offers. For each bet listed there is a category icon for what types of bets are available. You can either look at the Spread Betting, Fixed Odds or Binary Bets. There are selected individual matches up already for fixed odds betting, and Mexico are 5/4 to beat hosts South Africa in the opening fixture of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The Financial Betting section and the Casino are the prominent extras to the Sports Book with ExtraBet. There are few games featured on the site, but once you sign up, you will gain access to a bigger range in the Casino section. A nice Specials section for some bets outside of the sporting world, such as the 2010 Eurovision Song contest, which Germany are favourites to win apparently at 7/2, which is much shorter odds than they are to win the World Cup (14/1).

General Site Review:
Great looking website ExtraBet has, heightened with slightly retro looking cartoon graphics, which adds to a welcoming cool vibe. Betting on markets is laid out quite nicely, and you can put the stake into each bet (with help from arrows to increase and decrease stake value) before adding it to your betting slip. Again the site is geared towards both spread betting and fixed odds betting, so that gives a really nice, somewhat unique option, as it is really easy to switch between the two formats. A fun cartoon style help guide is great if you want to find out more about aspects of betting on the site, and as a whole the site is easy to get around and clear to understand.
