David Beckham seeking success on three continents

England Midfielder David Beckham is supposedly close to a deal which will see him make a loan return to AC Milan. This is something that the former England skipper did last year, in the quest to stay fit for international duty. That worked out well for Becks, and despite plenty of speculated interest coming from teams wanting to bring him back into the Premier League, AC Milan were keen to re-secure the services of the 34 year old. It is almost certain he will head there after the culmination of the MLS season, in which LA Galaxy have reached the MLS Cup Play-offs for the first time in 4 years, after winning the Western Conference. This will keep alive his dreams of success in North America, in Europe with Milan and of course in South Africa 2010.

Beckham is with the England squad in the Ukraine, ahead of the important match on Saturday, which could decide the Ukraine’s World Cup 2010 fate. The speculation over where Beckham may end up, has caused a distraction to his current club, LA Galaxy, according to some. Instead of being able to focus on where the club is going, which is in a positive direction, all the talk is over where their highest profiled player will be playing his trade during the MLS off-season.

Playing in Serie A is something that will help England. Beckham still has a lot of influence on the international scene, even now his presence is felt more from the bench, as opposed to being in the starting eleven. Experience and a winning mentality is something which counts for a great deal, and an important factor in amongst all of the youth in the current England set up. South Africa 2010 is likely to be that last time that Beckham graces the game on the highest stage of all, but until that time comes he has a part to play in their current success.

By keeping as fit as he can, he will prolong his importance to England, and to that of his club, to which he signed a five year deal back in 2007. LA Galaxy, as well as being compassionate with Beckham’s dreams of playing in his fourth World Cup are keen to get the most out of him. They know that he needs to be playing first class European football to maintain his England dream, and the Club will, like last time, give him a 6 month loan period away. Some of that time will eat into the beginning of the new MLS season, but that is a price they are willing to pay to keep Beckham on their books.

Beckham’s immediate future will be geared towards taking LA Galaxy to MLS glory this season, the final of which, and the end of the MLS season, is on November 11th.

Beckham is 4/9 at 888sport to make the World Cup Squad and as Anytime Scorer against the Ukraine in Saturday’s World Cup Qualifier, he is 6/1 at Paddy Power.
