England v Montenegro Betting Odds, Tips and Preview – 2014 World Cup Qualifier
England v Montenegro Betting Preview
Top spot in Group H of 2014 World Cup qualifiers is on the line as England head to Podgorica to take on leaders Montenegro. This is a match in which the Three Lions cannot afford any kind of slip up. A defeat on Tuesday night would likely put Roy Hodgson’s men out of an automatic qualification spot. A win would give them the advantage though, having to host Montenegro later in the year back at Wembley. England had to struggle to a 2-2 draw the last time they were out there, with Wayne Rooney seeing red in the match. A big night of composure is needed by England.

England v Montenegro Recommended Bet:
England head to Montenegro after a comfortable match against San Marino on Friday night. England romped to an 8-0 win, showing plenty of professional composure and confidence in front of goal. It could just be the thing that the Three Lions needed ahead of their trip to Podgorica, as long as the result didn’t breed complacency. It was a stroll in the park for England as expected and we’ll likely see different personnel and a different set up on Tuesday night, as Hodgson was cautious about the Three Lions saving their best for Montenegro. England could have an advantage because Montenegro had a tough battle on their hands in Moldova on Friday, having to play quite a while with ten men. They did manage to grab a vitally important late goal in the match though, which keeps them in ascendancy at the top of Group H. The pressure really is on England for this one, as they can’t afford to lose this one. Their chance of an automatic spot at Brazil 2014 would disappear if Hodgson’s men get this one wrong.
But on the flip side, the importance of this is massive for Montenegro who can pretty much secure themselves as group winners if they triumph here. England and Montenegro have conceded just two goals each and both are unbeaten. Montenegro are a decent side and they will put the England back line, which is arguably not going to be its strongest, under some pressure. There may not be too much to choose between these two on the night. But will Friday night have taken more out of Montenegro than England? The Three Lions really need to come away with a clean sheet out of this one, and that will at least be half way to a decent night. A draw wouldn’t be a disaster, but England wouldn’t be able to afford any more slip ups if that’s the result.
There may not be too much to choose between these and a one goal winning margin for either is tempting. But a draw seems a likely outcome given everything at stake here and worth looking at for a price of 5/2 with online bookmaker Ladbrokes.
England v Montenegro Head to Head
The two nations have met just twice before in history and that was in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Both matches produced a draw, England taking a 0-0 at home before that needling away match which England blew a two goal lead to tie 2-2 with Rooney getting sent off.
