England v San Marino Betting Preview
Roy Hodgson’s England will have one eye on the match in Montenegro a few days after the meeting with San Marino. But they can’t afford to take their eye off the ball here, as running up a big scoreline will help massively with their goal difference, which could prove crucial. The match against Montenegro will be a battle for top spot in the group, and this is the perfect match in which to be able to warm up with some confidence. It should produce a straightforward win for England, they need to be ruthless though.

England v San Marino Recommended Bet:
Can England deliver the goals that they need? There is some pressure on them because they are only second in the group so far, two points off the top and are facing a battle to take an automatic qualification spot for Brazil 2014. They have to make the most of this chance to run up some goals here and put group outsiders San Marino to the sword. England are in their predicament because of really poor draws against the Ukraine and Poland so far and really need to strike back into top form. This is a great game in which to do so, run up a few goals and get some confidence back. Their last game was that 2-1 win over Brazil in an international friendly back in February. Clearly this should be a routine win, and they will want to save their best for the trip to Montenegro, but that goal difference factor cannot be ignored.

England have drawn against Poland and thumped Moldova in their two away matches in the group so far. In total they have scored twelve goals and conceded just two, and they have to use the pace of the likes of Theo Walcott, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck to open up their opponents. A commanding performance from Wayne Rooney up front would set a big tone. This isn’t going to be time for caution, they just need goals. San Marino remain a long way short of the tools necessary to compete, having failed to score in their first four matches in the group, and having let in sixteen already. That’s an average of four per game, so England should at the very minimum hit that target. San Marino’s two home matches so far have ended in defeat against Moldova and Montenegro.

England v San Marino Head To Head
There have been just three previous matches between the two nations and everything stands in heavy favour of England. The Three Lions have won all three encounters, and have scored 18 goals and conceded just one in those games. The last meeting was the 5-0 win in London back in October of 2012. On their only previous trip to face San Marino away, England won 7-1 in Bologna back in the 1994 World Cup Qualifiers.
