FIFA confirm Brazil 2014 World Cup kick off times
The FIFA Executive Committee, holding a meeting in Zurich at the home of FIFA, recently approved and confirmed the kick off times for the 2014 FIFA World Cup which will be hosted by Brazil. With qualification for Brazil 2014 already under-way across the globe, FIFA settled on the times for kick offs for the entire tournament.
The opening match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held on June 12th in Sao Paulo and the kick off time will be 17:00 local time. There are time zone considerations to be looked at when you want to start planning your World Cup betting and viewing of course. However, for the first time since the 1994 World Cup held in the USA, the tournament will be held across differed kick off times.
Cuibaba and Manaus are at CET -6 while the rest of the venues will be at CET -5. Cuiaba and Manaus are one hour behind Brasilia Time. The matches for the group stage will be played at 13.00, 15.00, 16.00, 17.00, 18:00, 19.00 and 21:00 local time, with knock-out stage matches at 13.00 and 17.00 local time. The semi finals of the 2014 World Cup will be played at 17:00 local time and the Final itself will be played on July 13th with a 16:00 kick off at the famous Maracana Stadium.
The FIFA Executive Committee took into consideration things such as venue temperatures, global TV market considerations, fan travel logistics and equitable distribution across all teams, as well as rest periods. The draw for Brazil 2014 will be held on December 6th, 2013 at the Costa do Sauipe in Bahia.
