France v Honduras Odds & Betting Tips – World Cup 2014 Betting
France v Honduras Betting Preview – World Cup 2014
This should be a comfortable start for the French on their World Cup 2014 campaign. They are running as heavy odds on favourites to bank a win here, especially after demolishing Jamaica 8-0 in their last warm up match ahead of Brazil 2014. This is just the type of game with which to ease yourself into tournament competition with, because it doesn’t look as if Honduras are really going to have enough to offer in what will be their first ever meeting with Les Bleus.
But this is France, and look what happened to them four years ago at South Africa 2010, finishing bottom of their group. They have actually only won one of their last nine games in the group stage of the World Cup, back at World Cup 2006 against Togo. Not a great record, but they really should have the good to get the job done here. Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud are obvious targets in the anytime goalscorer market for this one, and both can be snapped up at around even money there. They should snap their run of not having scored in any of their last three opening World Cup matches.
There does look to be a good team spirit amongst the French squad, and that is huge credit to head coach Didier Deschamps. They were dealt a blow when they lost the services of Franck Ribery just ahead of the World Cip, but they are still looking like a very well balanced squad here. They have conceded just one goal in their last five matches and that makes then a decent to win to nil wager at a price of 10/11. They are playing well enough and confidently enough to pick up maximum points without too much fuss here.
Honduras have only picked up the one win in their last six matches played, posting a W1 D2 L3 record. Four years ago in South Africa, Honduras failed to get on the scoresheet in any of their matches, and haven’t scored in their last four World Cup matches. Not a lot of punch up top, and they have failed to score in three of their last six too. Jerry Bengston was their top scorer through the qualifiers for them, with 9 in 12 matches. But the threat of them getting on the board against an accomplished and solid looking French outfit doesn’t look to be too great.
