There is a big showdown in this CAF World Cup 2018 qualifier in midweek. Everything is on the line in this game. The Ivory Coast have to produce a home victory to get themselves to Russia 2018 while the visiting Morocco have to just keep on doing what they have been doing so far in the group and not concede a goal. A point secures them top spot in the group, sending them to the World Cup.

Ivory Coast vs Morocco Betting Tips

This is going to be an exciting and tense finale to Group C action from the final round of qualifying action from the CAF. Ivory Coast need to win this one but will they be able to break down a Morocco side who will likely try and defend their way to a point? The Ivory Coast trail group leaders Morocco by a point but they are well behind on goal difference so a draw won’t be good enough for them. But that in and of itself could be a boon for them because it really means that they have nothing to lose as it stands and can throw caution to the wind a bit. The earlier group meeting between the Elephants and Morocco ended in a 0-0 draw and under 2.5 goals at bet365 is a price of 2/5 while realistically there is value on under 1.5 goals for a 5/4 quote. The Ivory Coast find themselves in this must-win match because of a shock home defeat against Gabon, after having won 3-0 on the road against them.

The 0-0 draw in the bet365 correct score market is a price of 5/1 while the only option shorter priced than that is a 1-0 home win for the Ivory Cast at 4/1. The stats really point to this being a low scoring affair. The Ivory Coast are priced up at 7/4 with bet365 to win to nil. Their current form isn’t that great really though as they have only gone W2 D1 L3 in their last six games and so are having their struggles without question. This is where they have to shake it all off and raise themselves for a big performance.

They are level with Morocco in the recent head to head, with one win each and three draws in their last five meetings. The two of them met in January at the Africa Cup of Nations group stage and the Ivory Coast went down 1-0 and subsequently didn’t get out of the group. There have been just two goals in the last three meetings between these two and four of the last six have gone under 1.5 goals, each of the last four going under 2.5 goals. So there should be a really intense, low scoring game set for Thursday.

Morocco only need a point. Given how their defence has performed so far, it’s not unrealistic to predict that they will get it as well. They have scored nine goals in their five group matches so far and have not conceded. So they are certainly carrying the defensive form. Away from home though they have picked up only 0-0 draws against the Gabon and Mali and along with their home draw with the Ivory Coast, that’s three 0-0 draws in five qualifiers from them. Both teams not to score at bet365 because of all that is a value option at 1/2.

Will Morocco be able to collect a hugely precious point to send them to the World Cup? The way that their qualification has gone so far it may be worth backing them to pull this out of the bag. Morocco clearly knows how to defend and there is a price of 5/6 at bet365 on a Morocco-Draw Double Chance cropping up.
