Again a nice fixture to round off qualifying with, but it could be too little too late for the Croatians. The heavy defeat in their last game against England, really did hurt them and it is showing now. With the Ukraine achieving what Croatia couldn’t do, beating England, they have now taken all of the initiative away from the Croatians. They will also likely be rueing the lost points in the two draws against the Ukraine themselves.
This final game is something of a formality, with essentially nothing left to play for. They will win against the lowly Kazakhstan, but they will be relying on another result which simply will not happen. The Ukraine will be in the play-offs, leaving the Croatians licking their wounds.
