Ladbrokes offer 5/1 odds Germany to win World Cup 2018
Can Germany rule for years to come as boss Joachim Low suggested? Well, in becoming the first ever European nation to win the FIFA world Cup in South America, they have certainly laid a big foundation for further greatness. We have to wait four years now to see if Germany can successfully defend their title when Russia 2018 rolls around.
Watch out for the betting markets there, as there is always controversy as to whether a country will be ready enough in time to actually host the World Cup that they were awarded.
So World Cup 2018 betting is a long ante post dream at the moment, but that isn’t going to stop punters form having an early crack on the market. A quick glance at the outright winner market at Ladbrokes and you are pretty much picking from the same four strong contenders that you were presented with ahead of the 2014 World Cup, namely Brazil, Spain, Argentina and Germany.
After a good decade of youth investment by Germany, they will head to Russia as defending champions and Ladbrokes have a price of 5/1 on them to win the 2018 World Cup, the same price as they were ahead of this year’s edition. Whereas for the 2014 World Cup Germany were joint second favourites with Argentina, the ante post 2018 World Cup betting market sees them line up as favourites.
Argentina are running as 7/1 second favourites to go one step betting than they managed at Brazil 2014 and win the tournament, while Spain and Brazil are 8/1 shots. The chasing pack in 2018 World Cup betting are France at 10/1, with Italy, Holland and Belgium all around 16/1. As for England, they are running as 20/1 shots at Ladbrokes to land the trophy, which is the same price as hosts Russia, and Portugal, with Colombia trailing them at 22/1.
