The Netherlands will be eyeing this one up as a must win game probably. They kick off on home soil against the most dangerous side in the group, France. The French are the favourites to go and take top spot in his group and therefore book the automatic qualification spot to the 2018 World Cup from it. So can the Netherlands have a say in stopping them pushing on for that by taking a home win against Les Bleus? Current form between the two may suggest not because the Netherlands have only won two of their last eleven matches, both competitive and friendly, against the French.

France have won the last two in a row against the Netherlands, their most recent being a 3-2 win in Holland back in March this year. The Netherlands have put up form of W3 D2 L1 in their last six games played and so far in their qualification group they opened with a draw against Sweden and then hammered Belarus 4-1 on Friday. That was a big statement because the Belarusians had held France to a 0-0 draw in their opener. The Netherlands need a strong qualification campaign here after their total misfire in Euro 2016 qualifying when they won just four of ten games. This is a huge game for the Dutch, who will be on the back foot in qualification if they lose this one.

As for France, they were surprisingly held in that 0-0 draw against Belarus as mentioned above in their opening World Cup 2018 qualifying game. But they quickly shook that off to go out and beat Bulgaria 4-1. France are stacked with attacking power, but they have been struggling for clean sheets, having taken just the three in their last six (90 minutes). One of those was a notable one in a 2-0 win over Germany at Euro 2016 though. A 0-0 draw in this one will return to a price of 7/1 with the shortest price Correct Score option in at 5/1 on a 1-1 draw. The bookmakers are expecting a low scoring game because there is a 6/5 quote on the game going over the 2.5 goal line, but we think there could be goals and that the bookies have this one wrong.

France have a lot of scoring power on their day and the Netherlands will want to come out and win this one to take some kind of supremacy in the group. Four of the last six meetings between France and the Netherlands have gone over the 2.5 goal line and with the Dutch defence not exactly setting the world alight, there should be plenty of opportunities at both ends in this game. France can boast a better attack than the Netherlands, and Kevin Gameiro, Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet were all on the scoresheet against Bulgaria on Friday night.

A France to win to nil wager is price high though at 14/5 considering that they have taken just the one clean sheet in their last three. But they have scored seven goals across their last three games. Four of their last five wins over the Netherlands that France have posted have been by a one goal margin, and that is a price of 3/1 to happen again. France’s current form reads W4 D2 L0 (90 minutes). Can the French take full control of this group.

Netherlands vs France Betting Tips

The French should have the upper hand in this one but it is not likely to be by a big margin and there is appeal in the French to win by a one goal margin here for a big price. Considering that how the two of them expressed themselves on Friday, both will be confident in going forward and it is worth going against the bookies and going over 2.5 goals on the game.
