Northern Ireland vs Norway Betting Preview – World Cup 2018 Qualification
Northern Ireland can do their qualification hopes for the 2018 World Cup a huge favour by making the most of the home advantage against Norway on Sunday. They are in second place in Group C behind leaders Germany but they are level on points with Azerbaijan. But Azerbaijan face Germany this weekend and are likely to lose that, so a big three points for Northern Ireland could see them sitting a little more comfortable in second place. Can they make the most of this home game against a Norway side who have lost three of their four qualification matches so far? This is a big opportunity for the Irish.
If the Irish can get out of this with three points, that will tremendously boost their chances of locking in second place in the group. Northern Ireland are carrying form at the moment as they have won eight of their last eleven games on home soil and with Norway struggling, this is a big opportunity for them at Windsor Park. Northern Ireland have won their other two home games in the group, taking down Azerbaijan and San Marino. Northern Ireland managed to win both of those home fixtures by a 4-0 scoreline so they are ticking over well. It’s unlikely that the same scoreline is going to appear again, but Northern Ireland look value at 5/2 with Sky Bet to win to nil.
The Irish have earned a clean sheet in three of their four qualification games so far, having posted a W2 D1 L1 record in the group, the loss coming out on the road in Germany. Will Grigg is missing for the game, but Kyle Lafferty is 11/5 favourite in the anytime goalscorer market and the Irish are now unbeaten in seven home qualifiers (W5 D2) so will be fancied in this one with good reason too. Norway have gone W1 L5 in their last six games home and away, so they aren’t at the races. They have lost their last four competitive away games as well and have suffered defeats out at Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic in the group.
So it’s unlikely that they are going to be strong enough to roll out a win in this one, even though they hold a W5 L2 head to head record against Northern Ireland. Just two of those were competitive games though and the head to head there is the one win each. Norway have scored at least two goals in each of their last five games against Northern Ireland, but they are in a serious slump at the moment and a good, spirited performance from the home side is likely going to be enough to see the qualification hopes of the Norwegians left in tatters. It should be a rousing night at Windsor Park on Sunday. The Irish won’t want to let this opportunity slip out of their hands.

Northern Ireland vs Norway Betting Tips
Northern Ireland Home Win: The Irish look to be the value in this one because they have been a pretty solid home side for some time now. They are catching an out-of-sorts Norway at the right time and it doesn’t matter in this one of it is just a narrow 1-0 win, that would be brilliant for Northern Ireland’s qualification hopes.
