There is just going to be a fascinating conclusion to the action in CONMEBOL. Two automatic qualification places are still open along with the one play off place. Peru are in that play off spot, while Colombia are one point better of above them in fourth, the final automatic spot. So there is a lot at stake going down in this one. Peru held out for a point in a 0-0 draw with Argentina last week, while Colombia had a late slip on home soil against Paraguay to suffer a defeat and miss a chance to have already qualified.

Peru 11/8, Colombia 19/10, Draw 23/10

Peru vs Colombia Betting Tips

This is Peru’s shot to book themselves a place at the World Cup next summer. There are so many scenarios that can play out though, but the crux of it is that they need to match whatever Argentina do in order to stay above the Albiceleste, and they also have to better whatever Paraguay manage in their final game against bottom side Venezuela. A win guarantees that Peru will get through at the expense of yes, Colombia. So this is some duel between these two with so much pressure on the line. Peru lost 2-0 in Colombia when they met for the first time in qualification so need to redress the balance. After that game, they did meet at the 2016 Copa America which ended in a 0-0 draw. Three of the last four meetings between them have ended in a draw (90 minutes) and under 2.5 goals at bet365 is a price of 4/5.

Peru have done pretty well at home in the campaign with a W 4 D2 L2 record on the board and they have been strong going forward. Only Brazil and Uruguay have scored more goals than they have in the group (although they were handed a 3-0 win over Bolivia who fielded an ineligible player against them). Peru kept themselves in the picture and in the play off spot after a 0-0 draw with Argentina and they have carried through some great form of W5 D1 in their last six games. They have scoring threats through Edison Flores and Paolo Guerrero who both have five goals in qualification and they are a price of 3/1 and 6/4 respectively in the bet365 anytime goalscorer market. This is a tricky situation though, a victory puts them through, defeat would likely put them out and a draw leaves everything in the balance.

Will Colombia end up ruining a missed opportunity? Last week they were leading Paraguay at home with ten minutes to go but ended up conceding two very late goals. A win there and Colombia would have been home and dry in qualification. But they face a high pressure away game now. Radamel Falcao was on target against Paraguay and he is a 13/10 anytime goalscorer option for the game. A draw keeps Colombia above Peru, but that doesn’t necessarily seal an automatic qualification spot. If they only draw, Argentina could overtake them and potentially Paraguay too if they beat bottom side Venezuela by a big enough margin. The 1-1 draw in the Bet365 correct score market is the shortest priced option at 5/1 and this should be tense.
