Both of these have plenty of motivation to go out and put in a great performance. There is a chance that Slovakia could guarantee themselves a top two finish with a victory in this one while Scotland needs the victory to leapfrog themselves potentially up into second place in the group with one game to go. Scotland needs a special night in this one after being brushed aside easy by Slovakia earlier in the group in a 3-0 defeat. Will Gordon Strachan’s men be able to pull out a huge three points for themselves to take control of their destiny before meeting Slovenia next week?

Scotland vs Slovakia Betting Tips

Scotland have done a tremendous job of pulling themselves into the qualification spotlight in Group F. They looked well out of the running early on but they have sparked into life and with a great run of W3 D1 form in their last four qualifiers, they are well in the mix. All of their fate is in their own hands. Win their last two games and they will be going to the play offs. It has to then start on Thursday night with a big performance that will see them redress the balance of having played poorly in a 3-0 away defeat in Slovakia earlier in the group. But now that Scotland are going much better and have confidence on their side, they could get Hampden Park rocking. Over 2.5 goals at bet365 has to be value in this one at 5/4.

Scotland have good home form behind them as well as they have only suffered a defeat in their last eleven home games and that defeat was against Germany. They have gone W2 D2 at home in this qualification group and they so nearly took what would have been a bolstering win against England until the Three Lions equalised at the death. Scotland will have to call on some back up as they aren’t at full strength with Scott Brown Stuart Armstrong and Matt Ritchie all out. In the bet365 anytime goalscorer market, Leigh Griffiths is 15/8 favourite with Steven Fletcher and Chris Martin around the 13/8 mark. This will be Scotland’s first competitive home match against Slovakia and both teams to score in with is a 19/20 at bet365.

Slovakia took a shock lead against England at Wembley in their last qualifier and put on a pretty decent show despite losing that 2-1 in the end. They have players with experience at the last World Cup and they are pretty tidy and tough side. A win for them in this one would pretty much seal second place in the group for them, so they have the motivation to come out and play so that they won’t have big pressure in their final game. Both Slovakia and Scotland have scored 14 goals in each qualification, but have conceded four fewer. Away from home in the group they have lost by a one goal margin in England and Slovenia and conceded in less than convincing wins at Lithuania and Malta. Slovakia have earned one clean sheet in their last nine away games. Marek Hamsik and Adam Nemec are both at 12/5 in the anytime goalscorer market for them.

The visitors won’t be a pushover, but there is a genuine chance for both of these with so much at stake and hopefully, this is a good open game. But Slovakia are good enough to go to Scotland and collect a draw.
