Spain leave Man City pair behind as Del Bosque names 23-man World Cup 2014 squad
Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has settled on his final 23 man squad for their title defence at the World Cup 2014. There was no spot for Manchester City pair of Jesus Navas, and somewhat surprisingly, striker Alvaro Negredo. For a nation which is lacking a little bit in genuine strike power, the fact that Del Bosque has gone for Fernando Torres over the far more competitive Negredo, has left punters scratching their heads.
Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa, who didn’t last ten minutes in the Champions League final because of his hamstring injury, has been included in the 23 man squad, and he has been priced up as 11-4 favourite to be Spain’s top goalscorer at the finals.
Cesc Fabregas (7-1) is next in the betting ahead of 8-1 shots Pedro, David Villa and Chelsea’s Fernando Torres.
