Troy Deeney to make England Squad for World Cup 2018?
Watford strike Troy Deeney was the only player from the Hornets who made it into the PFA Championship Team of the Year. The striker has netted 21 league goals in the Championship this season, putting the Hornets in the Premier League next season as well as putting them in pole position to be crowned the Championship champions this season.
Deeny has only been bettered by Ipswich Town’s Daryl Murphy in the goalscoring charts in this season’s Championship. Online betting site Ladbrokes have offered up a price of 7/1 that Troy Deeney could earn his full international cap for England before 01/05/2016 and that market price was struck upon request from a punter.
Ladbrokes have a fantastic new request system in place, so if a punter has a big premonition about something and fancies a flutter, they can contact Ladbrokes and get a quote on their option. Maybe it is anything from Alan Pardew becoming England boss, or Harry Kane to become the top goalscorer at the 2018 World Cup, or Steven Gerrard still playing for the Three Lions at the tournament.
Whatever you think up, you can ask and Ladbrokes will listen. So is the 7/1 special quote on Deeney becoming a full international value? Well, he’ll be up in the top flight next season of course, battling it out with established top goalscorer like Sergio Aguero, Daniel Sturridge and Diego Costa.
So what about him actually making it to the England squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup? If he can prove himself in the top flight then he may be close. He has scored twenty or more goals in each of his last three seasons with the Hornets, if he gets another couple of profitable seasons like that under his belt up in the English top flight, then he will be hard to ignore, even with the competitive nature of the England forwards at the moment, which includes Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Daniel Sturridge and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
England are currently 20/1 to win the 2018 World Cup with online betting site Ladbrokes.
