FIFA president Sepp Blatter has come out an admitted that handing the 2022 World Cup to Qatar was “a mistake”. That is a big announcement and online betting site William Hill was quick to jump all over that, and are now offering odds of 7/4 that the 2022 finals will be played elsewhere, while offering 2/5 on FIFA to stick to their original decision.

Blatter told Swiss TV channel RTS: “Of course, it was a mistake. You know, one makes a lot of mistakes in life.

“The technical report indicated clearly that it was too hot in summer, but despite that the executive committee decided with quite a big majority that the tournament would be in Qatar.”
