World Cup 2014 Predictions
World Cup 2014 predictions are already at the front of most football punters’ minds. The big action in Brazil kicks off on June 12th with the host nation taking on the European challengers Croatia at the Arena de Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo.
So there has been plenty of World Cup 2014 betting done already, but with the close of the domestic seasons across Europe, the attention on Brazil 2014 will only intensify.
Outright winner World Cup 2014 predictions is likely to be the market which draws the most attention in the summer football-fest. It is natural as it will pull even the most casual of punters in, whether it is in backing one of the outright favourites, or even just placing a patriotic wager.
There is a big four in the field, Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain, so the field can be narrowed down to those. Our World Cup prediction would boil down to Argentina (5/1) or Brazil (3/1).
Brazil may not have a tough match until the semi finals where Germany may be waiting. That should be a factor in seeing them get close to the title. So who is more value? Argentina would be our guess. They could end up having a relatively easy path to the final and they have fantastically well-rounded and deep squad. It is not all about Lionel Messi, and while he could put in some big contributions, there is plenty more quality running through the squad. They don’t look to have much of a weakness anywhere and they look a decent each way shot. Brazil have far more pressure riding on their shoulders and could be short of competitive match action.
World Cup 2014 predictions for the Golden Boot winner is far harder to call. You have the big guns of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero floating around near the top of the market. None of them are bad options, while you are probably only going to be looking around a four or five goal haul to win the title, it would help if the player you backed got as many games under his belt as possible.
But that doesn’t stop the likes of Suarez, in defensively weak Uruguay side, and Cristiano Ronaldo with an average Portugal side, having the chance to run up a few goals during the group stage if that is as far as they get.
Tough to call and there are young talents like Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku who are great dark shots in the market as well. The proven record of Argentina’s Gonzalo Higuain and Robin van Persie may also tempt punters into backing them. So which way to go? This is where an each way shot could come in very handy and there is some appeal in Sergio Aguero. Alongside Lionel Messi, the Man City man could get plenty of chances and find himself in a lot of space with opposition worried about the Barcelona man instead. Sergio Aguero is trading at 16/1 in the Top Goalscorer market.
