Capacity: 51,762

Situated: Pretoria

Stadium Information:

The birth of the stadium dates back to 1906 but has gone under continuous upgrades ever since, most notably in 2008 when the capacity was raised to 51,762 in time for the World Cup.

Like the various upgrades and renovations the stadium has been put under, so has the name. Sponsors have had their say down the years but it’s official name is now ‘Loftus Versfeld’ named after Robert Owen Loftus Versfeld, the founder of organised sports in Pretoria as a tribute to the great man himself.

The stadium has already been tried and tested as it was used during the World Cup prep tournament, the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. It is, however, set to host just group encounters and one second round match during the World Cup.
