Back in March, the entire country of Brazil held its collective breath as superstar Neymar went for surgery on his fractured metatarsal and the news from the team doctor was that the PSG man was expected to be out for three months. That meant that his fitness for the 2018 World Cup is still a bit of a doubt.

However, Brazil have named injured Neymar in their 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia. Will he make it because a huge chunk of Brazil’s chances in the World cup is going to be resting on his shoulders? Even if he turns up, how fit will he be?

Manchester City will be represented in the Brazil squad by Ederson, Danilo, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus while other familiar Premier League names making the squad are Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino and Chelsea’s Willian.

Brazil are in Group E for Russia 2018 where they will face Costa Rica, Serbia and Switzerland, and play their first match on Sunday, 17 June. Brazil are 4/1 favourites at bet365* (Betting Odds taken at 8:05 p.m. on May 14th, 2018) to win the World Cup 2018.
