Panama World Cup 2018 Betting – Odds, Group & Prediction

This is one of the teams sitting in Group G at the 2018 World Cup waiting to embarrass England. Panama are 1000/1 outside shots at bet365 to win the World Cup and it’s hard to see just what they are going to put together at the tournament.
How Panama qualified
Coming from the CONCACAF, there was a dramatic conclusion to their qualification campaign. Going into their final match, they were facing up against Costa Rica who were holding down second place. Panmaa were sat on ten points, level on Honduras and two points back of the third-placed USA. So everything was still up in the air and it wasn’t an easy game for Panama to try and deal with in its own right.
With Honduras winning and Panama only drawing deep into the second half of the final round of matches it, Panama were out of the running, even with the United States losing at the time to Trinidad and Tobago. But two minutes from time Roman Torres netted a goal for Panama to give them a 2-1 lead and everything changed. Goal difference sent Panama up into third.
Honduras dropped to fourth (inter-confederation play off) and suddenly the USA were not heading to Russia 2018, chasing an equalising goal which would have given them the third place. It didn’t come. Panama took third, followed by Honduras and then the USA missed out altogether. It was a breathtaking finish to the campaign which otherwise was pretty low on quality. Panama finished with a W3 D4 L4 record from their ten games, scoring just the nine goals.
World Cup 2018 Group Stage
So the Central Americans take on England, Belgium and Tunisia in Group D of the 2018 World Cup. They are 4/7 odds-on favourites at Coral* (betting odds taken on April 3rd, 2018 at 00:35 a.m.) to finish bottom of their group. It is just a tough thing for them to try and manage all the way. They open with arguably their most difficult game, which is against Belgium on June 18th.
They may be looking forward to taking on England on June 24th, because they will be relishing the role as underdog there against a nation who lost at the Euro 2016 Championships to Iceland and who failed to beat Costa Rica at the last World Cup and were held to draws by the USA and Algeria at the 2010 World Cup. It would not be a huge shock to see someone embarrass the Three Lions on the big stage.
Panama are 14/1 odds against with Coral to beat England though in that match* (betting odds taken on April 3rd, 2018 at 00:35 a.m.). Then they round out their campaign against Tunisia arguably their most winnable match but Panama will still be going as underdogs for that one. It would not be a huge shock to see them go home empty handed without a single point.
2018 World Cup Odds*

Panama Predictions
It’s no surprise that Panama are 1/14 odds-on to be eliminated at the group stage* (betting odds taken on April 3rd, 2018 at 00:35 a.m.) of the 2018 World Cup. It’s going to happen with almost certainty. If you look in the Panama Top Goalscorer market the shortest priced option there is No Goalscorer at 3/1 odds* (betting odds taken on April 3rd, 2018 at 00:35 a.m.). They will likely fail to come up with a goal in this entire campaign and just are not in a position to embarrass anyone.
